Sequined Glamourous Stilettos

January 27, 2010

I absolutely LOVE these shoes (Litten by Aldo). They are the quintessential “going out” heel.. that I must have. They were $80 just a few days ago and now they’re down to $40. Wow, Aldo… you are making this really hard for me to not just take out my credit card and purchase these sparkling stilettos RIGHT NOW!

Lush: Fresh, Handmade Soaps and Things

January 26, 2010

I love LUSH. I discovered the small shop in NYC at their store in Soho. When living in such a small dirty city (sorry New Yorkers!), I searched to find handmade organic products that would help rejuvanate my skin and bring back all of the essential oils that were lost from my daily wear and tear. My favorite product from LUSH are their bath bombs. You know when you just want to relax after a long week? Bath Bombs are so delicious because all you do it throw them in a hot back and as they dissolve, they give your face a bit of a facial as well.

This one is Sakura Bath Bomb and it’s packed with floral fragrances. My other favorite is a special limited edition bath bomb that only comes out around Christmas time. I’ve also tried their Dream Cream and honey soap and both were luxurious as well. Also, I almost forgot to mention that since all of their products are handmade, you can actually buy facial scrubs and masks freshly made – sort of like a salad bar at the store. Pricey? Sort of. Worth it? HELL YES!

What are your favorite LUSH products? Anything you’d recommend that I try?

Does the heel really matter?

January 25, 2010

How much does a heel influence the kind of shoe that you buy? Do you only buy wedges? Stilettos? Flats? I am having a tough time deciding if I like the heel. No actually, I like them, but I have friends that hate both of these heels. What do you think? These are super comfy, but are they terrible looking?

Chained To Boots… Ankle Boots, that is!

January 24, 2010

I know I have been slightly obsessive about posting boots lately. It’s pretty much my latest obsession – yeah. Shoes. I feel like I’ve turned into Carrie Bradshaw or something. I’d actually rather prefer a nice pair of heels or boots than a fancy dinner. And these are my latest craze… they are on sale, of course. But, here’s to hoping they’ll go on sale even more.

They are called Melokonian by Aldo.

Dress Update! From Urban Outfitters.

January 22, 2010

I wanted to re-visit one of my favorite old shopping destinations — Urban Outfitters. When I was living in NY, my friend Ian and I would go there probably once or twice a week. Heck, I lived 2 blocks away from one! Anyway, I haven’t really been there in a while to dress shop given my latest shoe craze, but I checked back last night and was pleasantly suprised! Here are a few of my favs!

Silence and Noise Strapless Colorblock Ponte Dress: What a mouthful for such a delicate dress!

Cody Strapless Dress: Save this one for springtime, or better yet Easter! What a nice splash of color.

Kimchi Blue Print Chiffon Sahara Dress: Love the simplicity of the cut and the subtle pink bright colors.

What’s your favorite dress? Leave it in the comments!

Think Pink, Lips

January 18, 2010

I am newly obsessed with hot colored pink. I don’t know where this urge all of a sudden came from, but now I am on a hunt to find the perfect shade of hot pink. I found this awesome brand, Lipstick Queen and I think i have to order something! They have lipsticks, lip glosses and lip balms, lip pencils – you name it!

My favorite is Lipstick Queen’s 15 Minutes of Fame. They label each lipstick according to the minute! Clever! Hmm, I think I need number 7 or 8. What do you think?

White Tea Infused Body Cream… MMMmmmm!

January 11, 2010

Is your skin severly dehydrated? Are you unable to find a moisturizer that will keep you skin feeling soft and smelling delicious throughout the night? Well, my friends.. I have your answer. A Perfect World, by Origins is super thick with a soft sweet peach-like smell (although its the White Tea that smells.) My skin is super sensitive and usually I can’t use fragrance, but this doesn’t bother me at all.

The best part is that if you get it at Nordstrom Rack, you can save a few bucks. So skip the Origins counter and head over the Nordstom Rack. This is one of the few Origins products that they sell.

How Do You Store Your Jewelry?

January 8, 2010

That is the question for today. How do you store your jewelry? I have so much jewelry saved up and when I throw it in a box, they necklaces get all tangled! This pretty cute Bird Vine jewelry stand (from Urban Outfitters) is a great idea, but doesn’t seem like it holds much. I know a ton of you out there have atons of jewelry, so how do you store it? Leave it in the comments below!

$44 Motorcycle Boots!

January 8, 2010

I am a big fan of these motorcycle-esque boots. No, they’re not girly at all, yet they still have a bit of a heel. The buckles are awesome – in my opinion. And the best price is they’re only $44 bucks. Hmm.. too good to be true? Maybe, because I’m pretty sure they’re not made of leather, and I’m kind of a snob when it comes to pleather boots. But these are a pretty darn good bargain, if you can get past that. Sold at DELias!

Furniture for my new apartment!

January 4, 2010

I moved into a new apartment 2 days ago, exactly. This is my first apartment where I actually invested in real furniture. I shopped around everywhere – Ikea, Target, Furniture outlet stores, Pier One, etc etc. But keeping in mind that I am still on a budget, yet needed something quality, my aunt suggested that I go to World Market. It’s just my luck that EVERY piece of furniture is on sale! YAAY! I got this dining table and side table to match….. like it? By the way, the wood is REAL! Not particle board or MDF.

If you are looking for furniture, I strongly suggest going to World Market. They have a great variety of quality things, plus other accessories to furnish your home. Also, if you get a members card you can get discounts mailed to you!

Dillard’s Has Some Great Shoes!

January 4, 2010

The first time I ever visited my boyfriend’s family in Missouri, I headed to a Dillard’s store. Now for many of you, Dillard’s is nothing special. For me, it was like heaven! I’d never been in one before and I found one of my favorite shoe brands to date: Antonio Melani! I own a few pairs of them (because I keep heading back everytime I visit.) On my last trip, I fell in love with these beauties! P.S. If you keep checking the Dillards website, these shoes always go on sale. The boots below went from $169 to $99 in only a week! Score!

Collette:

This shoe is so fun! I love the pattern, yet the flat style is easy on your feet if you have to walk around all day. Great to dress up some jeans and a T or to wear with a little black dress!

Magy:

The Magy is suprisingly comfortable even with the slight heel. Very professional looking for work or play and the emblem on the toe gives it a fun flare.

Pyper:

These slouchy leather boots really pull together an outfit. It comes in 3 colors, beige, black and brown. I love the beige – it goes with an array of outfits! (Plus I already own black and brown boots!)

Light Sweaters Made For California Winters

December 11, 2009

With the beautiful California weather, you really don’t need to wear anything heavier than a light sweater or coat. And one of the advantages of living by the beaches out here are having all the cool surf stores! Nope, I’m not a surfer and to disprove the myth that surfer brands only sell surfer looking stuff, I’ve picked out some of the cutest light-California-sweaters perfect for the non surfer. These can all be found at my favorite surf store, Becker’s Surf.

1. Hurley Winchester Plaid Jacket

Though this jacket looks thick, it’s actually no thicker than a regular hoodie material. I know because I’m wearing it now. The hood is removable as well. (This link is from Buckle, but I got mine at Becker’s Surf.. for cheaper!)

2. Element Institute Sweater

I love this sweater so much because of its lightweight material and the asymmetrical closure on the front. The large buttons ad a great touch as well!

3. Lucy Love Riding Jacket

It looks like a heavy pea coat, but it’s just a soft cover up that’s made to fool ya! Plus the contrast in the colors and buttons give this jacket a nice touch.

I Got My Holiday Party Dress!

December 9, 2009

This cute little retro number is what I’ll be wearing for the holidays. It’s called the Helen Dress. And I got it at Motel Rocks, a fabulous site that has tons of inexpensive dresses to suit your every need. I like this one because of its simple characteristics, yet very chic. Now, since it’s hip hugging, I’m going to need some Spanx to go with it. Never tried ‘em before. Also a cute jacket. Any recommendations?

Here are some more dresses from Motel Rocks that you may also enjoy:

H&M Holiday Sale!

December 9, 2009

I love H&M because their clothes are so affordable and I am so stoked that they have a Holiday Sale with tons of new clothing and accessories perfect for Holiday parties. Just let me warn you, if you go to their site, and click on Holiday, it’s a mess. It’s so hard to look through their stuff with clothing and shoes flying everywhere you move your mouse, so I do suggest hitting up a store.

However, I did manage to find these on the site and man… I need them… now!

1. Golden Holiday Shoes

For $14.95, you really can’t beat this price. Plus these shoes are the shiznit! Even if you only wear them once!

2. Fabulous Cardigan

$34.95. For Holiday parties and regular parties, you’ll definitely get good use out of this cardigan. The high neck will keep you extra warm and the cable pattern adds the perfect amount of detail without looking too overdone. Hot damn!
